Thiess Services is at the forefront of engineered landfill design, construction and operation, with the highest standards of environmental control and compliance.
Where possible, we implement state-of-the-art technology on our engineered landfill sites to collect methane gas generated by waste decomposition and transfer it to sites where it is used as a fuel source in the co-generation of “green electricity’’.
Thiess Services’ ReOrganic Energy® project at Swanbank Waste Management Facility near Brisbane in Australia was the second of its kind in the world, where gas from the landfill has been used to off-set some of the coal used to generate electricity at the neighbouring CS Energy power station.
Thiess Services also offers closure and post-closure landfill management services, including the long-term maintenance of former landfill sites.
