Sadly over the Christmas break we lost a colleague and workmate in Western Australia

Johan Van De Walt was tragically lost in a scuba diving accident, south of Perth on New Year’s Eve.  He was a respected member of the Western Region team who, for the past two and a half years, worked as a linesman and team leader based at our Kewdale depot in Perth.  The Thiess family have once again come together to support Johan’s family in this tragic time.

Here in the UAE, we raised funds for the family through participating at the monthly Safa park flea market.

A number of team members organised a sale of items donated by staff from the Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices and managed to raise over AED 1000 which will be forwarded to the family in the next few days.

The General Manager of TSME, Mr Tim Harwood commented;

“In this difficult time, our thoughts are with Mrs Van De Walt and the children.  We realise that Johan will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues alike and we sincerely hope that our efforts over here will go a little way to help the family”
